Over breakfast, Ren and Yama talk around something neither will say aloud. He stares, she notices, and a confession dies on her lips. Then the door opens and a friend with a suitcase announces herself, ruining the moment completely.
Our take A warm roommate comedy with a believable awkward silence at the center. The coffee and the staring are charming, and the surprise arrival at the door is a perfectly timed interruption.

Mira has been dumped and thrown out, and Ren can't turn her away. He confesses his job loss, and the three decide to split the rent. Mira reads the situation at once and challenges Yama to a contest for his heart, with the winner taking him.
Our take The three way rent solution is practical and funny, and Mira's contest is a lively engine for what comes next. Wholesome in tone and cheeky in the details. A good pick.

Synopsis

Short on cash, Ren lets his spare room go to Yama, the woman he has secretly liked for ages. They fall into an easy domestic routine of coffee, toast and lingering looks. Then Yama's wild best friend Mira arrives with a suitcase and nowhere else to go. Ren loses his job the same day and can't cover the rent, so Mira stays, and the three of them become a household. Mira quickly guesses Ren's secret and proposes a wager to Yama: both go after him, and whoever he chooses wins. He mustn't ever know. A dangerous ex is already on his way.

Watch it if...

Watch it if you like a love triangle that plays out in the open. The shared apartment gives it constant comedy, Mira is chaotic fun, and Ren's helplessness is easy to root for. The bet gives the story a clear, enjoyable engine, and the looming ex means there is danger waiting in the wings.
