The narrator arrives with a van and finds Rory's mother changed since he last looked. Sorting through rooms, she laughs about decades of a husband who never noticed her. An agent announces a viewing, then raises an eyebrow at the helper. In Rory's old bedroom, a call from Rory lands at the worst moment.

Our take A moving-day setup with real warmth: decades of being overlooked gives the scene an emotional engine. The agent's interruption is a lively beat, and the call from her son is a well-timed jolt.

The packing reaches Amanda's bedroom, with the sale only days away. Over a pile of keepsakes, she tells him he has returned and praises his answers. The agent, Tamsin, drops by with a joke about borrowing him. Amanda stakes her claim, and admits she has waited twenty years for someone to want her.

Our take Amanda's confession about waiting two decades is the strongest moment, and the rival agent adds some playful competition. A touch sentimental, but it makes the later episodes feel earned.
