The new tenant arrives in a quiet street and is greeted by his landlord and the landlord's wife. Courtney offers to help carry things and takes care to touch him by accident. A discovery in the house suggests the welcome is not what it seems.

Our take A new street, a friendly landlord couple and a house that seems to know more than it should. Courtney's accidental touch is the best moment, and the sinister last beat is a decent hook.

A neighbor named Nicole stops by while Jamie is at work and admits she has heard a lot about him. She asks for help with a small chore and tells a story about a tattoo. The invitation to see it is left hanging.

Our take A tidy detour with a new neighbor, and the tattoo story is a charming way to stall. Low on stakes, but the open invitation makes the paid episodes look like the answer.

Synopsis

Looking to start over, he relocates and takes a room from a man named Jamie. Jamie's wife, Courtney, helps him with the boxes and the introductions and takes more than a casual interest in his comfort. Her husband approves. Neighbors stop in bearing casseroles and curiosity. Beneath the house there is a room that nobody mentions at the welcome dinner, and the whole street seems to know its purpose. The tenant believes he is the lucky newcomer. In fact, he has been the main attraction since before he signed the lease.

Watch it if...

A strong choice for viewers who like a creeping, increasingly cheeky sense of conspiracy. The setup is suburban, the mood is knowing and the reveal is that everyone has been watching the new guy. It has a fun escalation, a chorus of confident women and a tone that leans toward playful menace.
