Jake arrives to find Tyler's mom instead of Tyler. She asks him to help with sunscreen and he obeys, trembling. Tyler calls, Jake says all is normal, and then Dana walks in and sizes up the situation.

Our take A summer-heat opener with a mother who runs the scene and a friend who stammers through a phone call. The call with Tyler is the funniest beat. Good pacing, neat tease at the end.

Dana makes a deal: her silence has a price: she wants a turn too. Vanessa objects, claiming him as her own, and the two argue over who gets him first. Eventually a door is locked and the rivals settle their score.

Our take Two women fighting over one man makes for a pleasing farce, and the pool setting adds energy. The dialogue is sharper than in episode 1. A strong, playful tease for the paid episodes.

Synopsis

Jake is a broke college guy who agreed to watch his best friend Tyler's house for the weekend. He did not expect Tyler's mother, Vanessa, newly divorced and visibly relaxed, to be waiting by the pool with a request for help applying sunscreen. When Tyler phones to check in, Jake plays it cool. Then Vanessa's best friend Dana turns up unannounced, sees exactly what is going on, and declares that she wants a turn. Now he has two women with competing interests, a friend who could come home at any moment, and a house with very few places to hide. The weekend is just beginning.

Watch it if...

Watch it if you like a comedy of rivals: two confident women, one nervous guest, and a best friend who could walk in any second. The banter is fast and the house is full of near misses. It rewards viewers who enjoy a sharp, teasing argument as much as the setup that causes it.
